Sign-in by magic link
No passwords for students. One tap from the email to the portal, every time.
What it is
A magic-link is a one-time sign-in link the platform emails to the student. The student taps the link in their email and is signed straight into their portal. There is no password to set, no password to remember, and no “forgot your password” flow to deal with.
How a student uses it
The first magic-link the student receives is the one in their booking confirmation email — the link they tap to land in their portal for the first time.
Every time the student wants to come back to the portal afterwards, they open the sign-in page, type their email, and the platform sends them a fresh magic-link. The link is valid for a short window and can only be used once.
Why no passwords
Learner drivers tend to be young, often signing up to something like this for the first time, and they are using a personal email account they check on their phone. A password is one more thing for them to manage badly — they will write it on the back of a theory-test booklet, lose the booklet, and call you at seven in the evening.
Magic-link sign-in skips that whole class of problem. The email they already have to receive their booking confirmation is the same email that gets them back into the portal. No password to forget. No password to be phished. No support call about lost credentials.
What about instructors?
Instructors sign in with email and password. The magic-link pattern is specifically for the student side of the platform, where the case for skipping passwords is strongest.
